Viper in the Dirt

When shooting motorsport, you're always prepared for the unexpected. In this case, I was shooting cars coming past me through the turn 10 corner at a very slow shutter speed on my D3 and 70-200mm lens. My D3s and 500mm lying at my feet.

When I saw the #93 lock up and go barreling past the corner, into the grass, and then slowly make it's way back to the track, I immediately dropped my 70-200 and grabbed the 500mm and started shooting.

Sometimes you get lucky, and pick up a KICK ass frame of something unusual, but extremely dramatic. This is one of those cases.
